Production of Exact Copies of Ancient - Folklore artefacts

FTS SA has many years of experience in constructing exact copies of ancient and folklore artefacts with applied patina.

Once we digitize an ancient or folklore artefact, the data acquired is used as our reference material to construct with absolute accuracy an exact copy. Each copy can be measured and certified digitally. Any deviations of the copy geometry from the scanned (prototype) geometry can be detected, highlighted, qualified and quantified. This is not possible with the traditional process.

Furthermore the manufacture of exact copies based on digital data, help us reduce significantly the mass of each copy (hence its weight and the transport cost) compared to the copies made with traditional techniques. This is possible because the sculptured relief of a statue once is digitally scanned, can be used to compute precisely the required wall thickness of the replica.

Our construction process involves alternative advanced technologies such as CNC machines (3-5 axes milling), vacuum casting machines, rotational casting systems or rapid prototyping systems. The materials we use include synthetic materials, synthetic gypsum, marbles, wood, metal etc.
